Source Fullsteam.ag

As a lot of you know, our $3,000 double-barrel pig smoker (used to smoked the grains for Hogwash) was stolen last week from the back of the brewery. Although we have insurance, the incident has made us realize it’s time to beef up our security in the back of the brewery. We’d rather put our resources into meeting the demand for beer, but safety and security are clearly a priority right now.
We’re pretty transparent folks, so here’s the total estimated impact of a stolen smoker:

  • Cost to replace the smoker: $3,000 (deductible, what we still owed for our original smoker)
  • Security camera installation: $2,000
  • Roll-away fence: $5,000 estimate, bid coming tomorrow)

Total: $10,000

Every business has these unexpected expenses, but we’ve been amazed and appreciative of the countless number of people who have asked, “How can I help?” Ever since last week, we’ve had a lot of encouragement/gentle prodding to hold a fundraising event of our own.

So we’re in. But our thinking is: if we’re going to try and raise $10,000, it better be a pretty big party.

Megan McCormick w/ Debonzo Brothers CD RELEASE - 9:30
227 S Wilmington St
Raleigh, NC 27601
(919) 833-6557
Price: $5

THIS IS IT! After nearly a year of recording around peoples' busy schedules, playing numerous shows to fund it, Debonzo Brothers is proud to present, "One Damn Heart", our first full length album. Best of all, we get to debut it in our natural habitat, SLIM'S, with good f...riend Megan McCormick from Nashville, TN co-headlining and rawking out the night! Please arrive early and stay late, let's celebrate.

Megan McCormick
http://www.reverbnation.com/meganmccormick

Raised in Alaska by jazz musicians, McCormick's background set the stage for a career in music. She grew up listening to the likes of Bonnie Raitt and Steely Dan, but her most essential influences were from her family. “Watching and listening to them was life-changing,” notes McCormick. She started singing and picked up her first guitar at age 9, delving into a variety of styles, from blues to folk to alt-country, until finding her own personal style. She also plays the lap-steel, mandolin and bass and writes all of her own music. McCormick has won two International Bluegrass Music Association Awards for Recorded Event of the Year in 2006 (“Back To The Well”) and again in 2009 (“Proud To Be A Daughter of Bluegrass”) -- both for a special Daughters of Bluegrass project. This past year, she also landed her song, “Bullseye”, in the Emmy-Award nominated film, Prayers for Bobby, featuring Sigourney Weaver.

From pensive and intimate ballads to rock n' roll to indie-pop, she describes her sound today as “unique, well-rounded and genuine.” McCormick adds “My songs reflect a deep look inward as well as the world around me. I find inspiration sometimes in my guitar, on a street corner, or even in a lover. The new album will touch on love, family, addiction and the never-ending search for self-understanding.”
